Monday Book Review-Rainmaker

rainmaker

This was a very good book.  Here are the top 6 tips that I learned:

  1. Don’t fear rejection that’s how rainmakers are made.  We need to begin to expect rejection and be ready to deal with everything that comes our way.  Without the ability to deal with the rejection.
  2. Rainmakers have not competition.  When we operate in our “Sweet Spot” we should know that we have nothing that can stop you.
  3. Schedule an appointment and sale your customer.  Assume the sale and don’t forget to ask for the sale.  90% of sales people don’t ask.  When someone agrees to meet with you decide in advance that they will purchase everything you have pre-determined for them to have.  Don’t doubt your skill  or their ability to purchase.
  4. Give the extra’s to build a life-long relationship.  When people like you, they will be doing business with a friend and suddenly the pressure is off.
  5. Fish where the BIG Fish are!!!  Don’t be afraid or ashamed of what you do for a living.  It is honorable to sell, don’t make it bad.  Give good thoughts to how you show up and others will believe what you think.
  6. You are a Rainmaker, make it RAIN! When you believe, you can do it!!!!!

Monday Book Review-42 Rules of Marketing

42-Rules-Of-Marketing-SDL331301400-1-add5d

This was a good marketing book with multiple tips to help a business person market their business.  Here are the top 6 tips that I learned:

  1. Rules are meant to be broken.  If you spend time following marketing gurus, you will find that most of them make up rules that work for them.  I have learned what worked for them, may not work for you.  You must be willing to break the rules.
  2. Marketing must result in sales.  I have tried so many things to market my business. What I have realized if it does not cause someone to sign up or purchase, it was not a good ideal.  Please try various things but be willing to cancel the marketing if nothing results because of your marketing.
  3. Be consistent.  It’s so easy to try something one time.  The magic happens when you do something over and over and you get known for that thing.  If you want to be known for your work, do it consistently.
  4. Develop your own rules to follow.  No one can explain or make people understand like you do.  While you are watching others succeed, define success for yourself.  Decide how you work best, it must good for you.  You must give yourself the permission to change the rules to meet your needs and help you find your success.
  5. Visibility is key.  You must be seen if you truly want to make a difference in the world.  If you are the BOMB and no one knows, you will BLOW up by yourself!
  6. Make them laugh!  Laughter is so important.  It is one of the best ways to get people to get comfortable with you.  When you get people comfortable with you, they will listen to you.  When they listen, your important information is digested by them and it allows them the opportunity to join you or buy from you.  Spend time making people laugh.

Go and read this book and watch your marketing grow: 42 RULES OF MARKETING.

Monday Book Review-Oh, The Place You’ll Go!

oh-the-places-youll-go

This book was written by Dr. Seuss for children, but the lessons are priceless.  Here are the 6 lessons I received:

  1. Life is full of choices.  During our life will encounter a number of options and we must make a choice.
  2. You will see some great things.  In every area in life, you need to keep our eyes on the good things that happen in our life.
  3. You will make some bad decisions.  Sometime we need to start over and we might get off track.  Everyone makes a bad decision from time to time.
  4. There is FUN to be done.  Many times we don’t take the time to see the Fun that is available for us.  See the FUN everyday.
  5. Sometimes you must go alone.  I know that in every stage of our life, we need some alone time.  God does his best work when we are alone and he has our captive attention.
  6. Life is a GREAT Balancing Act. We will have HIGHS and we will have LOWS.  We must realize that nothing stays the same.  We have to be willing to learn as we go up and we go down.  Hopefully our life will be a GREAT Balancing ACT!

Monday Book Review-Ladies Living Life Forward

ladyd-book4-500x500

I had the pleasure of purchasing this book when it was released but I had not reviewed it until today. Here are the 6 lesson I got from the book:

  1. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  This scripture is so apparent in the life of Lady D.  She is a passionate Christian woman, she truly desires that everyone believes that they CAN do all things only with Christ.  I love her commitment to the promises of God.
  2. Forgiveness is needed.  In order to live the life that God has for you, you must rid any anger or ill will to anyone.  She truly broke down why forgiveness is needed in our lives and how you can receive the benefits God has promised you.
  3. Renew your mind.  If you want to make a change in your life, start with your mind. God allows us free will but many times we don’t monitor what goes in our mind.  It is our job to keep the GARBAGE out of our mind. Lady D shares the blessing in memorizing the scriptures.  Scriptures are just like weapons we can use when Satan is attacking us.  When we start to speak those scriptures from our memory, the Devil can’t do anything but leave us alone.
  4. Take control of your personal economy. Our jobs many times are taken for granted and we don’t see God’s favor of having the job.  Lady D stressed the need to save and take some steps to save money and do what we can to improve our finances.
  5. Encourage yourself.  Not many people feel comfortable talking about their greatness.  If more people realized that God gave you the greatness because YOU are the Apple of His Eye.  Spend time finding out what is good about you.  What do people love about you??  God gave you that skill or gift.  Don’t take God’s gift for granted.
  6. The Word of God can change your life.  After all of the issues that people experience that is always an answer by the Father.  Lady D encourages us to seek the scriptures for our answers.  If you BELIEVE God created it all, there is nothing he can’t solve.  The problem occurs when we don’t know his word and his promises.  Life will always have ups and downs but with God the downs can be occur while you are in HIS hands.

Monday Book Review-Raving Fans

raving-fan

This book teaches you how to develop a group of people who would never think of going anywhere else but where you provide goods and services.  They are called Raving Fans!

Here are the 6 lessons I received from reading this book:

  1. In life everyone has a choice of who they patronize.  Most people take for granted the relationship that people give to their money and how they spend it.  I think times are changing and people are more aware of where their money goes.  Personally I am trying very hard to shop at stores that stand for something and have good outreach programs to the community. I want to find doctors and service providers that know me and I am not just a number to them.  It does not matter if you spend 100 dollars or 100 million dollars per year, your money has value and you give to those who you believe should have it.
  2. Find out what you want.  When you go into business, decide what do you expect from staff, customers and even yourself.  Many times people don’t spend the time thinking about the feel of their business. I suggest you know what a person will experience when they use your services because your reputation will go ahead of you.
  3. Be human and admit if you make mistakes.  Sometimes you might not always get things right, take some time to find out how things when wrong and what you can do to make things better.
  4. Find out what the customers want.  It is so good to ask people from time to time, how you are doing in their opinion.  How can I make things better??  What makes you come to my store??
  5. Be ready to deal with the answers.  Many times people will not give you the whole truth.  Tell people that you want to know their good and bad experiences.
  6. Deliver plus one.  When people tell you want that want give them that plus one.  Go above and beyond their desired results.  Always WOW people with your little extras.

Monday Book Review-Stuck in Neutral

stuckinneutral.jpg

This book was excellent.  Here are my 6 lessons that I took away from the book.

  1. Without God you will spend your entire life stuck!.  The principles shared in the book really give you insight on what happens when you go it alone without God’s will being followed in your life.
  2. With confidence anything is possible.  Many times in life we allow the down times to take away our confidence.  When we build our confidence everything in our life gets better.  Spend some time learning how to grow your confidence in life.
  3. Be thankful!!  One of the greatest prayers of our life is thank-you.  Cortney does a great job explaining that humility breed attitude and gratitude breeds humility. So many people go thru life with an entitled mindset.  I think people don’t really understand what they have.  I believe if everyone had to visit or live in a 3rd world country, they would return so thankful for everything they have obtained.
  4. No Sacrifice-No Success! Wow this point was tough to really think about because in this microwave society that we live in, it seems like success is given to people overnight.  I know everyone pays a price but social media can make it look like opportunities fall into the right hands everyday.  We have to be so careful that we don’t compare ourselves to anyone who looks like they got it all. You have no ideal what they have went thru to have it all.
  5. Make Adjustment-Not Excuses–Clever!!! I which everyone in the world would put this in their vocabulary and their mindset.  If we just did some adjustments to the plan and watched how things change.  We could conquer so many issues.
  6. Appreciate your haters.  This ideal is so true because in life the haters keep you on your toes.  You find yourself always attempting to get better everyday because someone might have said something that was negative about you.  Haters are truly motivation to do better work every day.

Cortney Westbrook is a great entrepreneur that I had the privilege to meet in November 2016 at the http://www.ilovebusinessconference.com.  He is new to Dallas and has great plans to network and grow his business in the area.  his Up Together Empowerment Conference is coming up on July 13 & 14, 2017 and I encourage you to join me there.  Check out more information at: http://www.uptogetherconference.com

Micro Content is Queen!!!

micro.content

I realized that I am a different.  There are very few people that think like I do.  So when I find someone that thinks like I do, I gravitate to them.  Some of you might be wondering what is micro content??  It is a small amount of content.  I learned from Tanya Smith @ Snack sized Marketing and Grant Cardone, that it should not take a lot for people to get it.  I really like a lot of information but I don’t want to spend a lot of time learning it.  I find myself judging rather I will read something with the following filters: Does it have a picture that interests me?? and Is it a small amount to read??  For example if the facebook post does not have a picture I probably will not read it, everything is better with a picture.  I have gained so much knowledge with the short videos and blogs that I have digested in the last year.  I want you to evaluate if you want to add Micro Content to you life, so you can join me in saying: MICRO CONTENT IS QUEEN!!!
