Friday Movie Review-The Shack

theshack

This movie is a MUST SEE for any believer.  Here are the 6 points that I learned from the movie:

  1. Good and bad happens to everyone.  God is not in the hurting business, however he does not stop hurt from coming our way.  We must always be ready for hurt and disappointment in our lives.
  2. Great sadness can change everything in your life.  When you experience a blow to your mental capacity, it is difficult to return to normal.  Death can stop you in your tracks, especially if it is unexpected.
  3. See the wonders of God.  Many times we spend a lot of time looking at things that don’t matter and not enough time admiring what God made. Have you ever really took the time to look at the sky???
  4. Go back to where you got stuck.  If you go back to the problem that you are experiencing you must know the origin.  When we know the origin of things we can work from a true plan of action.
  5. Love always leaves a mark.  You know many times we take love for granted.  If you truly want to experience love, understand that true love leaves you marked.
  6. Love keeps working on you.  Have you ever loved someone so much that you don’t see their weaknesses and their faults.  I know I have experience that type of love but you must know that some things never change but in those rare incidents love can change people when you are determined to keep working on that person.

Do yourself a favor and go see: THE SHACK.

Friday Movie Review- A Dog’s Purpose

adogspurpose

This movie was very good and I was quite surprised.  Here are the 6 lessons I learned from the movie:

1.Have fun everyday.  The dog longed to have fun by playing with the owner.  Take time to have some fun everyday even if it is just minutes per day.

2.Sometimes the fun leave your life.  It’s during these times that we gain great clarity.  When the fun leaves us it forces us to get bitter or better.  Which will you choose?

3. Be here NOW.  I think most of you know that I truly believe you can not wast 1 minute of your life.  This statement  rings true on so many levels!!  Resolve you will be here NOW–Get in the present and stay in the present.

4. The worst thing is being ALONE.  Sometime syou are alone because you desire to be alone.  Other times you are ALONE because of separation due to death, divorce or a decision to split.  Find out how much aloneness you desire and fill your life with the people you love.

5. Our purpose might change.  It so interesting to see as I get older things that I thought made a huge difference to me, now are not that important.  I really see the reason why our purpose might change, it’s because we change.  We never stay the same and our thought and intelligence changes as well.  So accept the changes that you presented daily.

6. You can find true love.  Some people find love early in life and live happily ever after and other people might find it later in life.  Either way just find your TRUE LOVE!

Movie Review-Hidden Figures

hidden-figures-poster

This movie was AMAZING!  Here are the 6 lessons I gained from the movie:

  1. The right position has privileges. Many times we have great privileges that we receive because of the position we hold.
  2. We are living the impossible.  Do you believe we are living the impossible?  If you truly believe that you can–it’s all a matter of belief.
  3. The work you do matters.  It is so easy to think that what you do has no weight, but imagine the world without your contribution.
  4. Everyone will not appreciate your gift.  We might encounter people who don’t believe in us or what we have the power to do.  It is our job to BELIEVE in ourselves.
  5. Numbers don’t lie.  Numbers are an abosulute science.  I love when there is not other answer to the question 4+4 will always = 8.
  6. Who ever gets there first calls the rules.  When you look at new things, the first person who started it usually is the leader that everyone follows.

Friday Movie Review-Collateral Beauty

Collateral_Beauty_poster.png

This movie was so good that I saw it 3 times in the last 2 weeks.  I love stories that touch your heart.  Here are the 6 lessons that I learned from the movie:

  1. The co-star stated 1/2 of the billings were built of his relationships.  Business is done based upon the relationships.  So many people offer so many things that the only way to conduct business is how you feel about someone.  This is true in every business from birth to death.
  2. Death can make you feel that life is not worth living.  No parent wants to bury their child.  During the time of grief, people can respond in a number of ways.  Sometimes it takes years to regain the day to day routine.  When my son died, I was numb for over 1 year.  I could not get the strength to believe in children again.  It was the most difficult time in my life.
  3. Time waits for you know.  You can’t control it.  It is truly a gift and we must be thankful for everyday that we get. Many people take time for granted. We always wish for more, but what if you decide today to think about living as though you will not get any more after today.  That would force you to work today like was your last.  It would force you to love to today like it was your last.  It would help you see time is not under your rule.
  4. Love is the fabric of life.  We can’t choose who we love or who loves us.  Just be open to receive it.  Don’t push people out of your life if they love you, just love them back. You can change your life with a little LOVE.
  5. If you knew you were dying, would you tell anyone??  If your answer is no, that is not fair.  Give people a chance to say goodbye.  That is the right way to die.
  6. Collateral Beauty is all around us, we must open our eyes to see it. The older people will tell you when God takes something or someone he replaces it with something or someone else.  I my case I did not know 2 beautiful children would arrive after Adrian died.  I was able to move pass the grief and see the collateral beauty.  My prayer is you will always see the collateral beauty.

Friday Movie Review-Office Christmas Party

office-christmas-party-poster_december-7-692x1024

This movie was funny in a unique type of way.  These are the 6 tips I got from the movie:

  1. A Good Party is all you need.  People are craving social time now a days.  It seems like the world is tuned into social media and they spend less time together.  So when someone says party,  you can get a ton of people to attend.  I think that satisfies something missing in their lives.
  2. Some people show you a different side of them at a party.  Letting your hair down is what most people do when they drink or party.  People should really be careful how they act at all times during their employment.
  3. Sometimes a little tension is what you need to be creative.  When you are under stress sometimes you work better than you would when things are normal.  I know I do some much work when I have a deadline.  Millions of people thrive this way.
  4. Competition is good for your work place.  When things get low or contracts seem few, suddenly staff can get really creative on how to change things.  Management has to be extremely careful not to share difficulties in the company because the staff will do a mass exit and work will not be complete.  Good management looks out for the staff to make sure if layoffs are coming they will be taken care of.  Sometimes change is inevitable.
  5. You can make a difference with the simplest things. In this movie, they learned so much about each other and that information to help each other.  Take time to find out about your co-workers.  Find out their hobbies and dreams, it might end up helping you are them some day.
  6. Business can be won with genuine concern.  Many times doing research on someone can make the difference in you getting the business instead of another company.  I have learned in prospective customers making a decision you must do the “extras”.  If you decide that you are to commit to doing things above and above your competition, learn what can make you stick out.  It’s obvious this office party was a good ideal for this company.

Movie Review-Allied

allied-brad-pitt-and-marion-cotillard

This movie-Allied was a treat to see and review.  I learned 6 valuable lessons from this movie:

  1. Everything beautiful is not always good for you.  Many times we envy those who might look better than us or seem to have a better life than us.  Never wish for another person’s life, you don’t know what they go thru to live their life.  If you think that someone has a greener yard, trust and believe that their water bill is higher.
  2. Know your assignment.  Everyone is on assignment in life.  The smart people learn why they are here and live accordingly.  When you are on an assignment, you just work without problem.
  3. Be ready for change.  Change is inevitable.  We can’t stop it or cause it to be delayed.  If we know it is coming, we can get ready for it.
  4. Don’t allow your feelings to take over.  Feelings get in the way of so many things.  If you are dealing with your feelings, make sure that you keep working on goals and don’t allow moments of depression, sadness or angry stop your progress.
  5. Stop and watch the sunrise.   It’s good to slow down and see the goodness of God.  Being able to slow down does the body and mind good.
  6. Death is coming.  Death should be a great motivation for us to live every day as if it was our last.  When you know that death is coming, you will begin to make the main thing, the main thing.  You will begin to cherish every moment.  You will no longer be afraid of death, you will love the gentle reminder to live everyday to the fullest.
