Monday Book Review-From The Heart

From the heart

This book was great.  Here are the 8 points that I learned from the book:

  1. Position yourself to take the shot.  Preparation is key for any success.  Robin learned that you must always be ready to take the shot.
  2. Dream BIG, but focus small.  Dreams are vague and far away, goals are tangible and achievable. When we focus on the goals, movement happens.
  3. If at first you don’t succeed, dive back in.  Many times people give up with the first challenge.  We must remember that challenges will come and we must get ready for them.
  4. Never play the race, gender or any other card.  When we fall behind these various cards we are operating in fear.
  5. Venture outside of your comfort zone.  Find something that scares you and do it now.  You will grow from this experience tremendously.
  6. Focus on the solution and not the problem.  Your mind is like a huge google search, ask the question and it will bring you the answer.  Write down everything that comes to mind, you never know what is your ideal answer.
  7. Keep faith, family and friends close to your heart.  You must always be able to identify those who are put in your life to be your cheering squad.
  8. Make your mess your message.  Many times we think of bad things that have happened to us are totally meant to destroy us.  I want you to make a shift today.  Start thinking of every problem as a lesson that you are destined to learn and share with the world.

Do yourself a favor and go read: FROM THE HEART.

Monday Book Review-Two Scoops of Beauty

two-scoops

WOW is all I can say after reading this book and being in the presence of this AMAZING artist-Riska Crowder!  This book is about beauty but I learned so much more.  Here are my 6 lessons learned:

  1. Beauty is your birthrate!  Everyone is born beautiful but most of the time, we as women we don’t see our beauty.  Makeup is truly an AWESOME way to make you look and feel better.  Side note: Don’t offer your card if you are not looking amazing-in this business it does matter if your makeup is done or not.
  2. The makeup industry is a business.  We must decide how we choose to look at the makeup industry.  Will you just look better personally ???? Or will you use your talents and skills to help others???  If you decide to pursue this industry treat it as a business and it will support you.
  3. Be committed to excellent service.  Be willing to explain and teach if the opportunity is right.  Some people want their makeup done without any useful tips and others want to know everything.  Get to know who you are working with and your work can be very enjoyable.
  4. Every area of the face needs attention.  Make sure that you know about the face and what looks good on others.  If you are going to provide makeup artistry understand what the client wants.  It is a tragedy to put everyone in glitz and glamour even if you love it.  Most people want a less dramatic look. Be willing to make suggestions after you know their personality.
  5. Invest in your products.  It is super important to have products/brushes to work with for your clients.  If you are not at that level to have a full kit, get as much as you can before you start offering your services.
  6. Invest in yourself.  Education in personal development and product knowledge is key in this industry.  Be on the cutting edge of what is going on right now.  Do you know all of the skills you feel are necessary to be AMAZING in this field???  If not, GO LEARN THEM TODAY!!

If you want to look and feel good about yourself and help others, go today and purchase: TWO SCOOPS OF BEAUTY.

Monday Book Review-Million Dollar Women

book-with-starburst-2

Oh My Goodness, this book-Million Dollar Women is full of life changing lessons for every business person can learn from in their business journey.  I was particularly interested in this subject of million dollar status because it is such a huge accomplishment for business owners.

Here are my TOP 6 Points (Out of the many Good Points) that I took from this book:

  1. Fortune follows the BOLD!!  If you don’t learn anything from this book, learn this lesson.  If you want to get to a million dollar status, you have to be BOLD!  When you don’t walk in your boldness you miss a lot of what you are due to achieve.  Just a little more effort can make a dream turn into a reality.
  2. If it was EASY, everyone would do it!  Only the people that are willing to persistent will win.  I have learned over the years that people will only do just enough to get by.  Not many people will go the and then some.
  3. Powerful & Prepared and not Pretty & Perfect.  This one hits home for me.  I really want my information that I present to be pretty and perfect, but if you want to hit the million dollar status–it’s powerful & prepared that wins!!!
  4. Failure will come-get ready for it.  It’s so important that you know everything you attempt will not be great.  Some ideals are so far out there that you might be a little before your time.  Try several things, do as much as you can afford to do.  I have tried so many different things and many of them have failed, but I would not have it any other way.
  5. Hire coaches to help you these are people that you look up to and really know their strengths.  People separate your speaker coach, from your business coach and your marketing coach.  Every area of  your life can have a coach.  Make sure you hire coaches for spot training.
  6. Women in motion, stay in motion.  The key to success is MOMENTUM!!!  Once you get things started don’t stop.  If you stop it is very hard to get back going.  Find out what you like in business and keep going.  When you continue to go after your dream, you will be surprised on how you can go forward.

If you want to be inspired, go get: MILLION DOLLAR WOMEN!!
