Monday Book Review-Precision Marketing

precision.marketingThis book was a NEW & FRESH thought about marketing for me.  It was a methodical way of looking at marketing and ensuring that you can have a physical checklist for your marketing.

Ok this book was more technical for me and it added a psychological approach to thinking about marketing.  The author states it this way: Precision Marketing allows you to use data driven insight to deliver the right message, to the right person at the right time via the right channel.

So it really helped me understand why I can look at a video/commercial and that same company can show up in my Facebook feed.  I love that type of subtle messaging.  This book makes a good point that the consumers are in control in todays buying cycle.  When you realize that 91% of people opt out of mailing lists, we should not take offense.  We should work diligently to find the RIGHT 9% of people to be in our tribe.

The journey of success in Precision Marketing includes these 6 steps:

  1. Determine your objective goal
  2. Gather data
  3. Analyze & Model
  4. Strategize
  5. Deploy
  6. Measure

Enjoy PRECISION MARKETING if you want another way to think about marketing.
